Slow Ride: Live In Concert Blu-Ray

Review by Gary Hill

This live concert video was recorded in 1999. It includes some of the final performances of Foghat frontman Dave Peverett, who passed away the next year. The video and audio recording is both excellent, The fact that it has been up-scaled for release on Blu-Ray probably has something to do with that. The concert included hits "Fool for the City," "I Just Want To Make Love To You" and "Slow Ride," but those are just the highlights. This is a solid show in the fine tradition of Foghat - solid blues based rock. Personally, some of the moments I liked best about the show were the interplay between the two guitars, especially when they were working in sort of a call-and-response mode. All in all, this is good record of a period of the band's history that will never return. I'm glad they have given it the Blu-Ray treatment. .
