I reviewed the original release of this before. However, this reissue includes three bonus tracks. I have to say that I like those bonus tracks as much as anything else here. I find that with those tracks this is definitely a superior album. With that said, please note that other than the review of those three tracks, what follows is my original review for the sake of consistency.

I never met a Hawkwind album I didn’t like. That said, this is one of the more non-descript and lackluster discs in their catalog. It’s Hawkwind, so it’s still good, but I’d recommend getting this one late in your quest to complete your Hawkwind collection.

This is a strong Hawkwind disc, but it has a few problems with consistency.

There is a lot of Hawkind type space rock in the sound of Secret Saucer.

There is a big change on this disc, well at least on one tune as it has vocals.

This is arguably the strangest album the Hawkwind catalogue.

Every Secret Saucer CD is based in space rock, and that, of course, begs comparisons to Hawkwind.

I guess this was released under “Hawkwind Light Orchestra” rather than “Hawkwind” because the lineup isn’t precisely the same as Hawkwind these days.

This is probably the best Hawkwind DVD that Hawkwind never released.

Hawkwind had done a live album not that many years earlier with Palace Springs, so this seemed a little soon to put out one. 

While I like all the discs I’ve heard from Secret Saucer, this might be my favorite from these guys.
