Queen has gone through a number of musical changes, but their earlier material was definitely prog influenced. They never shied away from experimenting which created a sound that was uniquely their own.

This 1978 release from Queen, still has a very classic sound, but they were experimenting with some new directions. It had several hits, and also quite a bit of meaty music.

I love Queen. I wasn’t crazy about some of the music they did later in their career when they seemed to focus more on pop ditties than rock music, but overall, they were always a very talented band.

Freddie Mercury is certainly a legend of music – and while many legends didn’t have talent that really warranted their status, Mercury had it in spades. That made Queen a diamond in the club of rock and roll elite and endeared them to the hearts of many.
