![](images/spacer_FFFFFF.jpg) Review by Gary Hill
![](images/spacer_FFFFFF.jpg) I’ve always liked Steve Hackett, going back to his Genesis days and well beyond. I’m glad to see this live DVD coming out. It’s from a performance for German TV, so it’s an intimate venue. While that might mean that the feedback from the crowd is understated, that can actually be a plus. It lets the performance really breathe and stand on its own. Given the date of this show and the fact that it was filmed for European television, it should be a big shock that the quality isn’t up to modern standards. Still, this understandable and mostly apparent in the video, rather than the audio properties. I should say, don’t expect Genesis music here. Unlike some of his more recent tours, this show, including the extra footage, is all Hackett solo stuff, not Genesis music. That’s not a bad thing at all, though. This is an excellent performance and a highly recommended product.
