Genesis

Three Sides Live BluRay

Review by Gary Hill

I like this period of Genesis a lot. They were touring for the Abacab album. I think it was kind of the “best of both worlds” period between the prog side and the pop one. The concert performances, as one might guess, are exceptional. This band was top notch and in their prime. It shows. The video and audio are quite good, but not up to modern standards. The only real complaint I’ve got is that there are interview clips interspersed throughout the concert footage. I wish there was a way to bypass that. I understand that there is a DVD of this in a recent Genesis box-set. I tend to think that the BluRay probably shows enough increased quality to make this worth getting, though. Either way, if you like Genesis (and particularly this period of Genesis), I’d recommend this.
