The Residents
Faceless Forever- A Residents Encyclopaedia Written by Jim Knipfel & Brian Poole
Review by Gary Hill
One thing you can always count on from the Residents is that they are unconventional. I am a big fan of the band. That said, I don't always understand everything they do. In fact, I don't think I completely understand anything they do, but that's part of the allure.
This new encyclopedia is amazing. It allows you to look up all kinds of things from the band's history and get an idea of what it's about. Characters, albums and just anything else you can imagine is covered here.
The whole thing is encased in a nice hardcover. This isn't the kind of book you are going to read cover to cover, but as a Residents fan, it's certainly handy to have around. It's also something I never would have expected to have been made. That's about as Residents as you can get. Remember, this is a reference book. That makes it a great resource, but perhaps not the kind of book that can really be reviewed.
