I’m excited to announce that we’ll be heading to the studio in November to record our third album, If All Goes Wrong.  We’ve been writing the songs for this album over the last year, and I think the fans are really going to enjoy the music.  It’s a lot more vibrant and complex than anything we’ve ever done before.  The album is slated for release in early 2018.  We’ll be running a crowdfunding campaign from September 15 – October 27 to raise funds for the recording of the album, and there will be some really awesome rewards with the campaign that can’t be found anywhere else.

Lately, I’ve been listening to Land Animal by Bent Knee.  I met the band at RosFest 2016 and was blown away by their music.  I was fortunate to catch up with them again last month at an intimate performance in Austin.  It’s rare to find a band that has equal parts songwriting chops, instrumental virtuosity, and emotional depth to its music.

I’ve also been listening a lot to Kesha’s new album, Rainbow, which is a very enjoyable pop album, and We Won’t Get Out of Here Alive by fellow Austin prog rockers, Transit Method.  If you like grunge, heavy rock, and prog, this is definitely the album for you.

Last month, I saw two great shows in Austin: Bent Knee at Empire Control room and Transit Method at Sidewinder.  Both bands are fantastic live, and the members of both bands are really cool people to get to know.

I’ll always remember my first rock concert: Soundgarden at the Austin Music Hall in November 1996.  Superunknown was the album that got me into rock music, so I remember being extremely hyped for the show.  The first thing I remember when Soundgarden took the stage was two giant mosh pits opening up on either side of me.  Teenage me was not ready to get body-slammed by a bunch of burly dudes, so I ducked back very quickly!  But, the whole concert was a great and very memorable time.
