Dream Theater
Live at the Marcus Amphitheater-August 24th, 1998

Dream Theater proved that, even as an opening act, they are to be taken seriously in the prog world. In fact, they made a very strong argument for deserving to be placed at a higher point on the bill, meaning no disrespect to the other bands that performed at the show.
This set was a high-energy one that was, in many ways the same, but shorter set that DT performed earlier this year when they were headlining. It would have been nice to see a longer set from the band this time, but we can`t have everything. The performance was inspired and very tight. This band makes incredibly quick arrangements done very tight and precisely look deceptively easy.
If you have never seen Dream Theater, do it. You will be in for a treat. If you have seen them, I don`t need to tell you, you will see them again.
