Live At Celtic Fest, Chicago, September, 1999

Review by Gary Hill

Although they only had an all-too-short hour to play, Tempest came out and really took the crowd by storm.
Their particular blend of Celtic based prog really translates well in live performance. The band performed impeccably, and definitely showed a strong sense of humor and fun. High points of the show included a tongue-in-cheek kicking guitar line and a chase around the outside of the stage. Tempest really seemed to be enjoying themselves, and it was contagious. They performed material from several of their albums, and even threw in some musical quotes from a wide range of bands (even including Black Sabbath). Tempest's current lineup is: Lief Sorbye, Adolfo Lazo, Michael Mullen, John Land and Todd Evans.
