America’s Music Legacy – Rhythm and Blues DVD

Review by Gary Hill

While this is in no way a documentary, you can learn a lot about rhythm and blues from watching the performances captured here. Billy Eckstine, Billy Preston, Gloria Lynn, Scatman Crothers, MaryWells and more provide a wide-range of music, all of which qualifies as rhythm and blues. This is a great performance, and perhaps the best parts are those where different artists here play music together with others. It’s recommended for fans of the genre and for those looking to get a glimpse of what rhythm and blues is all about.
