Aswad

Live At Rockpalast: Cologne 1980 DVD

Review by Gary Hill

These guys are considered one of the most successful reggae acts from the UK. Here in the states, though, they are more or less unknown. I only recently became aware of them myself. I like their brand of reggae. This DVD is an early show from the group. They were talented already then. This is a fun and effective performance. The video and audio are both quite good, at least by the standards of the time. No, this isn't up to the modern standards, but it is acceptable and more, even today. This is just basically a one hour show. The only bonus feature is the trailer for it. This is a classy set, either way.
