Heart
Ann and Nancy Wilson: Kicking & Dreaming: A Story of Heart, Soul, and Rock & Roll
Review by Diane Hill
Heart is a more complex band than I ever thought. This is no "feel bad for all we've had to go through" tell-all book. This is an honest, gritty tale of what it's like to be two beautiful women in rock.
They dominated the charts in the 70s with hits like “Barracuda” and “Crazy on You.” They showed their softer side on “Dog and Butterfly.” They plugged along in the 80s and 90s with the Album Bebe Le Strange and singles such as “These Dreams” and “All I want to Do Is Make Love to You.” This book details what was going on behind the scenes while they were busy topping the charts with their hits. From failed relationships and infertility to drugs to the conflicts within the band. They persevered and came out strong and still ready to rock.
