The track is a pulsing swirl of ambient sound. Hill's voice, when heard, rises out of the noise like a survivor of some great struggle, his words distorted, straining against the sound but never attaining clarity.

The Music of Erich Zann Despite the stripped down structure, the soundscape, taken as a whole, does an excellent job of capturing some of the foreboding mystery surrounding the best of Lovecraft's fiction. This is an intelligent piece and, obviously, a labor of love.
(Editor's Note: The G.W. Hill who created this music is the same G.W. (Gary) Hill who runs Music Street Journal and is editing this piece. I asked for an unbiased review and will run it as unbiased . Also, Music Street Journal is set up for the allocation of albums, not singles - particularly not one-song singles. So, in the instances, like this one, where we've covered single song releases, we've had to make some adaptations for formatting.
