Bang OK Bang

Chemicals

Review by Gary Hill
I’d love to hear more than just four songs from these guys. Their blend of sounds includes lots of stoner metal along with punk and psychedelic and more old-school metal. There’s nothing wholly new or original here, but the sound they have is all their own. It’s also quite strong.

Track by Track Review
Above the Surface

They fire this out with a real metallic fury. It works out to sort of a fuzz driven roots rock meets indie and stoner rock sound. It’s a slow moving stomper that’s quite cool, but the distortion is a little over the top.

Always For You
This one is definitely more metal in texture. It’s kind of like Clutch meets old school Black Sabbath. There’s a smoking hot riff driving it. The only real problem is that distortion is even more annoying here.
One in a Million

Even more noise driven, this rocker almost feels punky in some ways. Still, it’s a rock and roll tune.

Chemicals Pt. 1 & 2

The garage band distorted sound is mixed with a more stripped back sound for a real indie rocker type tune. There’s a lot of old school psychedelia built into this one. It works out to some serious stoner metal and goes through a number of changes. This is definitely the best cut on show and has the most change and variety built into it. It seems that the distorted textures work better here.
