Honky is trio from Austin, Texas who bill themselves as a psychedelic super boogie type band, but to me it seems that there are more elements to their sound than just that. 421 is Honky’s newest release and is full of well crafted songs that keep me listening over and over again. In fact, I think I found my new favorite CD.

The disc’s opener is a full-on onslaught of guitar.
Just A Man This one starts with an AC/DC kind of style and then changes to a bit of a psychedelic sound.
Riddle Cap “Alluring” would be a good word to describe this song.
Erson I kind of get an Alice Cooper vibe from this song.
Walton County A cool song, there’s almost a psychedelic quality to it.
4:21 The title track is a rocking instrumental with a great groove.
All For Nothin' A slow hypnotic song, this drags me into its web.
Over Easy Think ZZ Top at their dirtiest and you’ll be close to the sound of this track.
Woke Up Dead I could just picture a bluesman doing this track in a dirty old juke joint.
Handful Of Nails There's a nice slice of Texas super boogie on this cut.
Black Joes's Bitch It’s a love song, well kind of anyway.
