This is both a Christmas song and children’s song. It’s much more than that, though. The music and arrangement are both quite pretty. It falls somewhere along the lines of contemporary pop music with symphonic elements.

The vocals (by Mary Allen) are very strong. Lyrically this has a couple of levels. On the one hand it tells the story of Rudolph’s brother Ranger. On the other hand, though, it’s a positive message about the power of believing in yourself and positive thinking. That’s a great message. It’s delivered in such a way that keeps it from feeling preachy or like you are learning something. This is quite a nice piece of music that would be a great addition to family Christmas play lists.
