Best I Can Be EP

Review by Gary Hill

This EP is quite cool. I really wish there was more music here. I mean, three songs give you an idea about what this artist sounds like, but more would be great. There is a lot of classic sound here along with modern elements. I even make out some jazz on one track. All in all, this is a diverse and entertaining set.

Track by Track Review
Make You Scream

This is a hard rocking tune that is set in both modern and classic sounds. It’s a killer number and a great way to start the set in style. The vocal line is accessible. The guitar heavy arrangement really rocks.

Long Way Down
This has a definite alternative rock modern sound. It’s got a catchy vocal melody. It’s more or less a mellow tune with some energy. While the opener was a real scorching rocker, this is set more in a pure electronic-laden, modern sound.
The Best I Can Be
The keyboard sound on this brings a real retro texture. The guitar sound is melodic and quite tasty. Multiple layers of vocals and other elements lend a lush feeling to the piece. The guitar solo is particularly tasty and tasteful. This is modern, but also classic. It’s catchy, too. There’s a real jazzy element at play here.
