Sleepwreck

Disasterpiece

Review by Gary Hill

Although this is probably more electronic music than it is anything else directly, I’d consider it prog. It has definite prog leanings built into it. In addition to that, it’s often artsy. I like it a lot. I’d love to hear more from this act than just these four songs, really.

Track by Track Review
Moment of Truth

This is quite a cool piece. It’s got a great electronic dance vibe combined with some reggae and some prog elements. There are some processed non-lyrical vocals, but they might be samples. They come across almost as instrumentation more than singing.

Makes the Sugar Sweeter
There are some spoken female vocals a bit like an instrument at the start (and later). There are some non-lyrical sung ones, too. Again those might be a sample. This has a lot more of a rock song vibe, but is still firmly set in the same kind of electronic music territory. I particularly like the keyboard section at the end.
Take It Apart
This harder rocking tune is a killer. It’s still electronic, but it’s really along the lines of an artsy modern prog in a lot of ways. It has processed vocals that are used for great effect. I absolutely love this piece. It’s definitely a highlight.
Disasterpiece
This instrumental is another song that’s quite prog like. There are things here that make me think of a more electronic version of ELO in some ways. It’s a cool tune on a cool set.
