Dreaming in Color

This could almost land under progressive rock. Certainly some of the songs could qualify. Overall, this has a hard rocking AOR kind of texture that really works well. There isn't a weak song here. It never feels redundant at all. There is definitely a lot of progressive rock here, but a lot of psychedelia and even some metal and more in the mix. Whatever you call this, it's a killer disc.

Losing Sleep
Imagine taking a basic rock music structure and merging it with a metallic power and some hints of psychedelia. Now blend some modern progressive rock changes into the piece. You'll be somewhere close to the sound of this powerful opener.
Witching Hour
I dig the hard rocking grind on this tune. It's a killer stomper that works so well. It still has some bits of psychedelia, but is almost more of a modern version of Cream in some ways. It goes out into a full on prog rock break later in the cut before coming back into the song proper to end.
Reaching for Clouds
While the prog angle is gone here, this does still have a bit of a psychedelic edge. Still, it's the most mainstream and straightforward rocker here. It's a killer tune, too.
Dream Control
With some Latin rhythms in the mix, this combines that with alternative rock, psychedelia and more to create quite an effective piece of music. This is a powerful rocker.
Recurring Dreams
This rocker has some catchy elements and a meaty sound. I really dig the guitar tones on this thing. The cool slide soloing works so well.
World on Fire
This cut definitely makes me think of some Billy Sherwood's stuff. It's a driving, hard rocking number with some modern prog rock and alternative rock elements in the mix. It gets into some downright metallic territory later.
Dreaming in Color
The title track comes in with a bit of a bluesy rocking kind of texture. Yet it has some jazz and some prog elements in the mix. This is a cool groove with a great sound. This is another that makes me think of Billy Sherwood a bit. It's a great closing shot.
