"Gettin' High Off You" (digital single)

Review by Gary Hill

This is one of two singles I have reviewed from this artist for this issue of Music Street Journal. While this one lands first in order in the issue (because the titles are in alphabetical order) I actually wrote the other review before hearing this song. In that review I mentioned that the vocals made me think of Axl Rose. Well, this number feels like it could be some long lost Guns 'N Roses outtake. It's a screaming hot, tastefully raw number that is quite effective.

This review is available in book (paperback and hardcover) form in Music Street Journal: 2018  Volume 3. More information and purchase links can be found at: garyhillauthor.com/Music-Street-Journal-2018.

Track by Track Review
Gettin' High Off You
This pounds in heavy and punky. It really feels like Guns 'N Roses in just about every way possible. The vocals are clearly like Axl Rose. Even the guitar solos sound quite a bit like Slash. This has some strong hooks and really rocks. Of the two singles, I like this one a lot more.
