Jillian Shea

Talk Too Loud (digital single)

Review by Gary Hill

I need to allay some confusion here. I've previously released another single from this artist. That one was sent to me under the name "Jillian Shea Spaeder." So, it's listed under that name. I could have listed this under that name, but that seems a great way to duplicate an inaccuracy. Since our print edition is the definitive one, I can't just change that one online. So, I'm setting this one up as a different artist, but it really is the same person.

This review is available in book (paperback and hardcover) in Music Street Journal: 2019  Volume 4. More information and purchase links can be found at: garyhillauthor.com/Music-Street-Journal-2019.

Track by Track Review
Talk Too Loud
This is an energetic pop tune. It does have a tendency to be a bit over-produced, but not to the degree that you might expect in modern pop music. There are some great hooks. Some of the layers of sound placed over the top of this, the laughter for instance, lending an intriguing mood to the piece. All in all, this is above the level of a lot of modern pop music. Yet it does it in a way that should allow it to appeal to fans of the genre.
