The Sea At Midnight Oceans Review by Gary Hill If you like 80s music, and particularly The Cure, you are likely to really enjoy this. A four song EP, everything here is strong. I think it benefits from being a short release, though. If it went on a bit longer, it might start to feel monolithic. With this smaller plate, it seems just about perfect to me. Track by Track Review

Oceans I dig the real 80s rocking vibe on this song. It's moody, driving and very tasty. The chorus hooks are so catchy, too. The instrumental on this section definitely makes me think of The Cure.

Afraid of the Waves This is less hook-laden and perhaps a bit harder rocking than the opener was. Still, it does have some hooks, they just aren't as up-front as they were on the first song. The 80s elements are still all over this, and this tune also makes me think of The cute. It is also a killer number.

Atmosphere I dig the dreamy, trippy jamming later in the tune. This has plenty of the same concepts as the rest of the release, but that soaring movement later in this song really surpasses the magic of everything that's come before it.

I Can’t Wait I really like this number a lot. It's not a huge difference from anything else here, but it's really effective, just like all the rest are.
