The Rocketz Lovesick and Heartbroke Review by Gary Hill This LA band sounds familiar, but are also very entertaining. Their blend of rockabilly, rock and roll, punk and even alternative sounds is nothing new, but they do it really well. I'm reminded at various times of acts ranging from Cracker to The Ramones and Georgia Satellites. This is an effective set that most importantly is a lot of fun. Track by Track Review

Not Coming Home I love how this fires out of the gate with a hot rocking energy and texture. The cut has some hints of emo with some rockabilly and more in the mix. It's a killer and catchy hard rocker and a great way to start things in style.

Get No Sleep This stomper gets a minor parental advisory on the lyrics. It's much more of a rockabilly inspired number. That said, there is still plenty of punky energy and crunch. It's another winner.

Bit By Bit Fast-paced and screaming hot, this makes me think of the Ramones to some degree. It's a real powerhouse that's among the strongest music here. Given the competition, that says a lot.

See You Around This cut is very much a rockabilly number. The emphasis is on the country angles to the number. It's another fun one.

Wither Coming in as a rockabilly stomper, this shifts to a mellower texture for the verses. It's sort of a cowboy punk number. It's classy and classic. It's also quite entertaining.

Takes Me Back Horn adds an intriguing touch to this one. There is a bit of a jazz edge mixed into the familiar elements. This cut is more of a ballad. I like the variety it provides, but it's not one of my favorites here.

Sleeping In Your Arms This screams out with a punk ferocity. It has plenty of rockabilly in the mix.

What The Hell Do You Want From Me A nearly purely country romp as it gets underway, this earns a parental advisory. The hillbilly sounds on this feel tongue-in-cheek to me because they are so over-the-top. It does turn a bit more toward the rockabilly side of things after a while.

Round She Goes Stomping hot punk based sound is on the menu here. This is a highlight of the set. It's a real screamer.

Wrong About You Another scorcher, this has a great hard rocking tune. It reminds me a bit of Cracker. Since I'm a big fan of that band, that says a lot.

Falling Down Possibly the meanest and fiercest stomper of the set, this is a smoking hot punk screamer. This is one of the highlights here, making it a great choice for closer.
