Yes

Live at the World Music Theater-July 9th, 1998

Review by Gary Hill

The magic is back. There is seemingly a growing underground progressive rock movement. Yes was regarded by many as the definitive progressive rock band of the `70`s. They certainly have staked their claim on the title for this movement as well. It is good to know that, if there is a prog revival, Yes will be there this time, too.
The show combined grooving musical moments, highly emotional textures, grandiose segments and a sense of humor into a varied and wonderous sound painting. High points of the concert were Close to the Edge, Heart of the Sunrise and Siberian Khatru. Missing from the set, with the exception of the title track to Open Your Eyes, was new material. One gets the impression that the band is working on reclaiming their live glory before moving strongly into new, unexplored territory. This seems a solid plan.
