California Guitar Trio

Simplicity versus complexity - it seems the two words are mutually exclusive. However, the California Guitar Trio prove that there are ways in which this is not necessarily true.

Indeed, looking at it from a basic perspective you don't get much more simple than CGT - three guys, three guitars and no vocals. When you get into the angle of musical complexity the whole picture changes, though. The group really puts out a style of music that is both progressively complex and just plain fun. It's hard to believe that three guys standing on a stage with guitars could entertain as well as they do, but they do. They play both originals and a wide array of cover tracks with an ease, fluidity and tightness that is almost uncanny at times. Their "Bohemian Rhapsody" has to be seen to be believed as does their "Heart of the Sunrise". They put in a nice spaghetti western segment and plenty of other tricks to keep the show lively and entertaining. What a great time!
