This DVD was released in 2004, a year after Special One was released.My memory of this time-frame is that while the album was not that big of a hit, the band always delivered the goods live.
Those popping this disc in to spin and expecting a Cheap Trick album might be disappointed. Sure, Bun E. Carlos has been best known as the drummer for Cheap Trick, but honestly, this is not a Cheap Trick album.
On the one hand, Nick D'Virgilio has been out of Spock's Beard for a while now. That means that perhaps the mentions of the band and comparisons aren't entirely appropriate.
What a treat it was to have this trickster performing at our beautifully haunted Coronado theater in Rockford, Illinois. Opening with "Brutal Planet," this shock rocker put on a flawless show.
