The Byrds

Under Review DVD

Review by Gary Hill

This is another DVD in the “Under Review” series, and once again, the quality here is top notch. In addition to giving some insight into the world that gave birth to the Byrds, we get treated to in-depth analysis of the music of the band. This, in itself, makes this series a step above the rest, and this DVD is no exception. For those who are fans of the Byrds and those who just enjoy great music (particularly from the late 1960’s), this is a “must have.” This is how music documentaries should be done. In fact, this time around we get not only one, but two DVD’s of material including lots of bonus goodies.

This review is available in book format (hardcover and paperback) in Music Street Journal: 2007 Volume 5 at lulu.com/strangesound.
