Thinking back to the music of Supertramp, one remembers all those killer songs. Well, the truth of the matter is, those songs might be even better than you recall. It’s easy for a weak song to sound pretty good when given a full band treatment, but here Supertramp main man has stripped the songs down to an arrangement that features accompanied by one person (who plays saxophones and occasional keyboards). The truth of the matter is, these songs might actually be better in this format than with the full band. They really have room to breath and show off their charms that way. Hodgson works his way through a set laden with Supertramp and his solo numbers. He plays guitars and keyboards (depending on the song). His voice is every bit as strong as it was in the hey-day of the band, and he’s a consummate showman. With the addition of killer videography and sound, this DVD should be a must have for every Supertramp fan (casual or hardcore). You just can’t live without this – it’s that good!
