Deep Purple

History, Hits and Highlights ’68-’76 DVD

Review by Gary Hill

So, you are a Deep Purple fan? Have you been looking for some quality DVD and wanting it all in one place? Then your time has arrived. This double disc set is a killer. It’s not perfect, but it’s definitely the most comprehensive and impressive thing out there right now.

The DVD chronicles MK1 through MK4 of the group and literally features all kinds of rare footages from all those eras. This is a literal treasure trove of goodies. If there are some complaints, they are somewhat minor. Some of the clips have some weird editing issues. Other things aren’t correctly listed in the notes. The truth is, though, it would have been even better had they gotten these things right, but they did a great job nonetheless. This is arguably the definitive video compilation of Deep Purple and would be a great place to start building your DP video collection.
