John Denver

Rocky Mountain High: Live in Japan DVD

Review by Gary Hill

You can say what you like about John Denver, yes he was very much a “nice guy” kind of artist, but his music was good. He was one of the most popular musicians of the 20th Century and when his music is playing you can’t help but tap your toes and get a smile on your face. This 1981 concert film captures that sound in a great live performance that features his biggest hits. It’s not to current video and audio standards, but it’s still very good. It’s a nice way to remember a musician who was taken from us too soon.
