Food For Thought: Greatest Hits Live DVD

Review by Gary Hill

Some of the videos recorded for TV under the Rockpalast heading are a bit lacking in terms of sound and video quality. That’s often because the recordings are from the 1970’s. This one, though, is from 1981 and the technology was a bit better by that point. So, while this DVD isn’t up to modern standards, it is definitely above some of the others in the series. I like this performance a lot. It’s composed of material from UB40’s first two albums and the group really seem to be firing on all cylinders here. They show that they knew how to put in a compelling and powerful live performance. This should please both long time fans and the more casual ones.
