Michael McDonald

This Christmas Live In Chicago DVD

Review by Gary Hill

One might gather from the title that all the music included here is Christmas music. That wouldn’t be true. About half or so, of the songs from this concert are holiday tunes. He rounds things off with some Doobie Brothers classics. This 2009 concert is a good one and the video and sound quality are both strong. A lot of how you feel about this video will depend on how you feel about McDonald himself. However, the holiday nature gives it a whole different audience, too. Of course, it also means you’ll find yourself watching it more at a certain time of the year. All in all, though, it’s quite a good DVD.
