America’s Music Legacy – Blues DVD

Review by Gary Hill

The format of this set is a bit different than some of the others in the series. A film clip of a blues artist from long ago is played and then we get a live performance by a modern artist. There are also little bits of interviews here and there, making this seem more like a documentary than the other offerings in the series do. This concept makes this one of the weaker releases in the series, but with some smoking hot jamming by B.B. King, it’s worth having none the less. I was a little disappointed because of all the videos in the series, this was the one I thought I’d like the most.

This review is available in book format (hardcover and paperback) in Music Street Journal: 2010  Volume 6 at lulu.com/strangesound.
