Symphonic Live BluRay

Review by Gary Hill

Since we’ve already reviewed the DVD version of this set, this review will focus on the difference between this new BluRay release and that original one. In that regard there are two differences, one a positive, and one a negative. The positive change here is the obvious one, improved picture and sound quality. And, those changes are the selling factor here. If you’ve waited to get this set, this is the time because it looks and sounds great. If you bought it on DVD, this is enough of an improvement (with one caveat to follow) to make it worth the upgrade. The negative to be found, though, is that some animated graphics included can’t be bypassed. With the DVD the viewer could shut the animations off. That feature has been dropped here. Add to that the lack of any new bonus materials and it leads to a head scratching moment. Still, this disc is worth having, either way.
