Ozzy Osbourne

God Bless Ozzy Osbourne BluRay

Review by Gary Hill

This documentary is quite good, but not without its flaws. I mean, the insights into the personal life of Ozzy are pretty interesting. It’s sort of like getting the real story of what was going on during the reality show, and a lot of other stuff. In a lot of ways it really glosses over Ozzy’s career, though. I mean, certain things like the Black Sabbath years are covered with some detail, but then whole sections of Ozzy’s solo career are glossed over. While this is a good documentary, you would have thought with the kind of inside access available, we would have gotten a great documentary. Also, there are stories here that have been told different ways (with completely different explanations – the dove story, for instance) by both Sharon and Ozzy. Sometimes they say it was a real dove, sometimes they say it was a fake dove like a magic trick. Either way, it makes you wonder what’s real and what is going to be revealed a few years down the road to have been all a fabrication for this particular documentary.
