Alice Donut

Freaks In Love DVD

Review by Eric Meli

Freaks in Love is a video documentary of the punk band Alice Donut and their 25-year career in underground rock. This DVD was written and directed by David Koslowski and Skizz Cyzyk and follows Alice Donut in a timeline style of events from the beginning to around 2009. It has interviews from most everybody associated with the band like Jello Biafra who signed them to his Alternative Tentacles label, and Curt Kirkwood of Meat Puppets. Also on the Freaks in Love DVD are some video clips and live show shots, and around 40 minutes of bonus material that includes deleted scenes and some additional live material.

This review is available in book format (hardcover and paperback) in Music Street Journal: 2012  Volume 5 at lulu.com/strangesound.
