The Doors
R-Evolution BluRay
Review by Gary Hill
This is an intriguing collection of Doors rarities. Sure, a lot of this has surfaced over the years here and there, but it’s great to have it all in one place. I’m not sure how much of an improvement having it in HD is, though. I mean, most of this video is quite old. That means, the quality is limited by the original source tapes. So, in HD, you don’t see a lot of improvement. The sound quality is great throughout, though. I really do like this set. I’d say that it’s only for hardcore Doors fans, but on the other hand, I don’t fit into that category and I like it. I think I like the newer music videos the best of just about everything here. Those were videos made in the 1980s and 1990s using archival footage, newer video and the original songs. However you slice this thing, though, it’s a cool release and worth having in my opinion.
