The Rolling Stones

From the Vault: LA Forum Live in 1975 DVD

Review by Gary Hill

I love this series. It’s great that we are finally getting to watch these classic Rolling Stones shows at home. The Rolling Stones were amazing in the performance. Of course, I’ve never seen a bad show from the Stones. I’ve only seen them in person once, but these videos are a good substitute. No, they can’t replace the actual event of seeing the Stones live, but they come close. I love the set here. I mean, they included a lot of my favorite songs from the period. Some of the choices weren’t obvious, but they work really well. It should note that, given the video and audio quality and some of the shots, I think this started as a bootleg. It’s a very good bootleg, but it’s not going to be of the same quality as a pro-shot video. Beyond that, though, I can’t recommend this enough. It’s quite a good live DVD of a band that’s always been better live than in the studio.
