Monsters of Rock Live at Donington 1980 DVD

Review by Gary Hill

This new DVD with bonus CD is good, but not great. Let’s get the negatives out of the way first. The DVD is short, running only around 30 minutes in length. There are no bonus features, either. You really have to wonder why the audio CD that accompanies it is so much longer. Now, all that said, the live performance is smoking hot. The video and audio are both good for the time period. So, this is worth having for sure. Just don’t count on a lot more from the DVD than is here and you’ll be happy with this set. Honestly, the live CD is worth having by itself. From that point of view you could look at the DVD as a bonus and be pleased.
