Ole Ole Ole - A Trip Across Latin America Blu-Ray

Review by Gary Hill

This is really a perfect companion to Havana Moon. That video captures the Stones' first concert in Cuba. It's mostly concert film, with some set up. This video in a lot of ways is about that set up. It covers the tour through South America leading up to that Cuba show.

There are several aspects that are showcased throughout this documentary. One of those is a focus on the Stones fans in South America, and the whole culture around them. There are some fascinating moments related to that. Another aspect here is the behind the scenes footage. A lot of this is focused on the band members, but there is a lot of coverage of the crew, too. The whole thing is polished off by concert footage for the various shows.

One can look at Havana Moon as the culmination of the journey that is captured in this documentary. While either one is great by itself, I think that the two together make for a stronger whole than either of the parts. I highly recommend this to Rolling Stones fans. It's a great journey captured in film.
