MSJ:
It's been a couple years or so since we last did an interview with you. What's new in the world of Billy Sherwood? |
Just about to start mixing a Chris Squire tribute record I'm producing for Cleopatra Records - sounds wonderful. It's filled with a lot of great guest artists. I'm very proud of it, and I think it honors Chris in a very nice way. Other than that I'm writing music for a new solo record. |
MSJ: What can you tell us about the new live Yes album? |
It's just been released. Great performances from our Drama/Tales... tour. It's got a great energy on it from tip to tail |
MSJ: Are there plans for recording a studio album? |
I hope so... Yes is about forward motion, and so a new record would be something I'd be into. |
MSJ: What's the best thing that's ever been said about your music? |
Keep making more of it |
MSJ: What's ahead for you? |
Yes touring starting February and through the year, as it's the 50th anniversary of Yes |
MSJ: What was the last CD you bought and/or what have you been listening to lately? |
In my off time , which is rare I tend to play video games (laughter).... After hours on end working on music, music is the last thing I want to listen to. |
MSJ: Have you read any good books lately? |
Only the manual for my new Behringer console (laughter). It's a good read! |
MSJ: Have you played any great new video games we should know about? |
I'm still into Battlefield 4. Not an easy game to play in multiplayer mode, but.... a lot of fun if you're a nerd like I am. |
MSJ: What about the last concert you attended for your enjoyment? |
Roger Waters. It was amazing! |
MSJ: Do you remember your first concert? |
Earth Wind and Fire.... they were epic! |
MSJ: Have you come across any new gear recently that you love? |
My Behringer console which I use for my bass rig. It serves as my mixer, blending sounds, etcetera, and also as my in ear monitoring board - all operated by my iPad which is mounted on my mic stand. I love it! That and the new TC Electronics VoiceLive 3, which serves as my vocal sound for live. I also use Tech 21 amps and Spector basses! |
MSJ: Are there any closing thoughts you would like to get out there? |
Thanks to those who follow and support my musical adventures! |
