Silver Flyer
This is such a beautiful song. It’s got a very folk rock kind of sound to it. While it’s gentle, it also soars. The feeling on this is quite classic in tone and sound. In a lot of ways this has a folk prog element to it. The vocals make me think of Annie Haslam to some degree. That combination makes this feel a bit like Renaissance, really. |

I've Got You (I Feel Good)
The musical arrangement here consists of a standup bass and hand claps. The vocal arrangement on this cover brings a real soulful vibe. The resulting mix of sounds feels quite jazz-like. It’s also very cool. |

Blind
Rock and roll, blues, jazz and more seem to combine on this great tune. The vocal line really sells this, but the musical arrangement is great, too. This is one of the most soulful and strongest pieces here. |

Good Enough
The retro textured, jazz meets rock groove on this is timeless and classic. It’s another highlight of the set. The keyboard solo on this is particularly effective. |

Dancing With You All By Myself
Folk and jazz are the major cohorts here. It’s another classy tune that works really well. |

Coming Home
This feels so much like the kind of music Joni Mitchell, Carly Simon and others like her create. It very much feels like a song that would have been on the radio in the 1970s. |

The Deep Blue of Midnight
Although there are no huge changes here, this is one of the coolest pieces of music here. It just creates such a magical mood and sound. The vocals really bring a lot of jazz to the table. |

Veterans Day
Lyrically this seems to equate veterans of wars with veterans of bad love affairs. Musically it’s a jazzy powerhouse. |

Feel You in My Bones
A bit sad and quite pretty, this is a slow moving jazz number. I love the piano in the arrangement. Then again, I like the whole piece a lot. It’s very effective and evocative. |

The Deep
Although there is more roots music in the mix on this than the comparison suggests, this is another that makes me think of Renaissance’s brand of folk prog. It’s another strong cut and some definite variety. It’s more of a rocker than a lot of the other music here. |

Tanglewood Tree
The melody is quite pretty on this, and the song is fairly complex. The duet works really well, adding a lot to it. |

The Way You Look at Me
Another with a lot of jazz in the mix, this is also a great rocker. The vocal line is soulful and really drives it home. It’s a sultry scorcher. |

Waiting for the Sun
Closer to pure folk rock, this is another strong and emotional piece of music. |
