This EP lands in rocking country territory. Even so, there is a good amount of range here. The vocals exist in the lower range and bring a real pure country sensibility to all of this. To a large degree, they are the biggest selling point here. That said, it's not that anything else is weak - it clearly isn't. It's just that the vocal performance is just about perfect for this style of music. Fans of rocking country music will find plenty like here. This is definitely a strong entry into that genre.
Hard edged and powered up, this is a country music stomper. It has plenty of rock music built into it. It really drives and works quite well. It's an excellent choice for opener.
Bad Girls
The groove on this is definitely more along the lines of rock based pop music. That said, the vocal performance and some of the melodies brings it more into a country based motif. So does the bluegrass drop back section mid-track. I dig the violin (or should I say "fiddle?") on this, too. This is a fun cut and a nice way to show off another side of this act.
This Time
A balladic cut, this is a "love gone bad" number. It's a potent number that's clearly pure country music based. This is all about the end of a relationship.
I'll Make a Country Girl Outta You Yet
Perhaps this lands a bit more on the rock side of the equation. It doesn't have any shortage of country music, though. It's a boot-kicker that's a lot of fun.

Bluesy country music, this is classy and classic. It rocks nicely. This makes for a great closer in a lot of ways.
