This soulful single does a great job of bringing a modern edge to a retro texture. I suppose you might see the equation the other way around, but honestly, I think the prevailing winds here are driven by the 1970s vibe.
On It There are some highly processed vocals on the very beginning of this. Fortunately, that's just for effect there. The rest of the voices get a much more honest recording. Bass and funk make up the introduction. That bass holds as the backdrop for the first vocals. Beyond that this has some killer retro organ in the mix. There is also a smoking hot guitar solo that comes in at the end. All in all, this is a particularly catchy tune that really works well. It should please both old-school and modern soul fans.
