CAIN

My Mind (digital single)

Review by Gary Hill

This new single has an interesting sound. It is rocking, but also electronic. It seems like a crossover sort of piece from the rocking crowd and the pop music scene. This is quite effective, really.

This review is available in book (paperback and hardcover) in Music Street Journal: 2019  Volume 5. More information and purchase links can be found at: garyhillauthor.com/Music-Street-Journal-2019.

Track by Track Review
My Mind
Percussion comes in with an insistent, rumbling sound. It feels almost like an underlying presence at first, but then starts to rise upward. The cut works out to something that has elements of modern electronic pop, but also plenty of hard rocking sound. It even gets a rap. This defies genre classification, but works so well. It's accessible and dramatic.
