Lord Sonny the Unifier Pay The Man (When You Leave) (digital single) Review by Gary Hill I have reviewed several things from this artist in the past. I would consider those to be stronger than this, but that's not really an indictment of this piece. It's more about the strength of those. They just seemed to work a little better. Pay The Man (When You Leave) Powering right in, there is a definite space rock element on the intro to this cut. It works out to more of a straight-hard rocker. There is a bit of DIY texture to it, but those space rock elements also return from time to time. I can make out a punk edge, as well. This is high energy and a bit raw at times. It also has some funky, pop rock sounds at play, too, though.
