Patrick Ames

Essential Workers (digital single)

Review by Gary Hill

Patrick Ames music is often rough around the edges, but full of genuine feeling. Such is the case with this number. It's message is the real charm of this tune. That said, there is still plenty to like about it beyond that aspect.

This review is available in book (paperback and hardcover) form in Music Street Journal: 2020  Volume 6. More information and purchase links can be found at: garyhillauthor.com/Music-Street-Journal-2020.

Track by Track Review
Essential Workers
Chorale styled vocals bring this cut into being. It grows outward from there into more of a folk rocking number. It has a DIY sound and a lot of energy. The message is an homage to our essential workers in the time of pandemic.
