Rene Erickson Silent Street Review by Gary Hill Although he's well versed in other instruments, too, this new release from Rene Erickson focuses entirely on his acoustic guitar work. These instrumental pieces are somewhat varied, and all quite effective. If you are a fan of acoustic guitar solo works, this set is for you. It's actually very good. Track by Track Review

Jump Cut I love the intricate acoustic guitar work that brings this into being. It's delicate, but also has a real meat to it. A powerful instrumental piece, this is a great way to start things.

Never Gone There is more of a dream-like quality to this piece. Beyond that it's not far removed from the opener.

No Sleep This feels more "song-like," although it's still an acoustic guitar solo piece. It has more meat on its bones in some ways, feeling more like a folk rock number, or at least the basis for one.

Mended Fences I like the energy and groove of this instrumental piece. It works well, but perhaps isn't at the same level as some of the others here.

Silent Street There are some things late on this one that seems like they are backwards tracked, but they are just minor, like icing on the cake. Beyond that, we have more acoustic guitar magic.

Q&A I really love the guitar intricacies on this number. It has a moving energy to it.

Firefly This does feel a little like a firefly in flight. It's another effective acoustic guitar piece.

Found Friend Gentle and intricate, this has a folk vibe to it.

Better Left Unsaid Another pretty acoustic guitar tapestry is laid out for our enjoyment here.

Every Nothing While no big change, this is another satisfying acoustic guitar journey.

Somewhere Warm This does feel warm and breezy. It's another strong acoustic guitar number.
