Nina de Vitry What You Feel Is Real Review by Gary Hill
Nina de Vitry is described as a jazz folk artist. I think that fits pretty well. That said, it’s not descriptive enough, really. Her sound isn’t far removed from a lot of modern female singer songwriters. Yet, it’s somehow unique. The jazz elements on this are so strong, but the whole thing is packed full of magic. This is a very classy release.

Track by Track Review
History
There is a real smooth, almost jazzy, soulful groove to this track. This is all class and so cool.
Wrong Thing
The organ brings some seriously retro sound to the proceedings. I dig the horns, too. This is a cool number that definitely has a lot of jazz built into it.
Don't Remind Me
The energy and groove on this is so tasty. The multilayered vocal arrangement is definitely magic.
Bright Star
This mellow tune is more of an acoustic guitar ballad. It still has some jazz vibes at play, and some other instrumental elements do come in later as icing on the cake.
Being with Myself
With some hints of country music in the mix, this is a soft rocker. It brings some variety and is a great piece of music.
Life You Could Be Living
This romp is very cool. It has a lot of great jazz and more in the mix.
Song for You
More of a classic female singer songwriter vibe is on the display here. This is another strong tune on a disc full of strong music.
Home
Slow moving and rather bluesy, this is classy and classic.
Mother of Mine
This one is bouncy, jazzy and so much fun.
Open
Mellow and artsy, this is such a strong piece of music. In fact, I think it’s one of the standouts here.
What You Feel Is Real
The title track brings back healthy helpings of jazz. It’s more powered up than some of the rest. It’s also a standout track.
