Elton John

Someone Like Me DVD

Review by Gary Hill

A lot of these documentaries are pretty weak. I have to say that I really enjoy this one. While it suffers greatly from not being able to use the actual music of Elton John, it provides a lot of interesting history and even includes a good deal of interview clips (mind you, I’m sure they weren’t filmed for or exclusive to this documentary) of the man himself. If you are a fan of Elton John and want a great insight into his career, this is for you. For those of us who have followed his life and times you’ll find that you might get some information you either never knew or had forgotten.

This review is available in book format (hardcover and paperback) in Music Street Journal: 2007 Volume 5 at lulu.com/strangesound.
